Cancer Therapy

Cancer cells communicate and clump together. The cell-to-cell interaction is made possible by special molecules that sit on the outer walls of the cancer cells. These special molecules can stick to non-cancerous tissues and create metastases, which is the way for cancer to grow and spread. Modified citrus pectin binds to the special molecules on cell surfaces and thus prevents cell interaction and causes cancer cells to die. Modified citrus pectin also reduces angiogenesis (building of new blood vessels which supply cancer cells with nutrients), and thus starves the cancer cells to death. Use of modified citrus pectin is suggested not just for those with cancer but also for people who undergo biopsy and in general for cancer prevention. It is used in all types of cancer: prostate, breast, colon, melanoma, and others.

Detoxification

Almost everyone is exposed to metals at work or at home (food, air, water). Many of the heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, arsenic, mercury, aluminum, etc. produce vague problems that can plague us for years and cannot be solved until the metals are removed. Why is PectaSol more expensive than other pectins on the market?

The enzymatic process used to modify the highest-quality pectin is expensive. The molecular weight and degree of esterification varies greatly between modified citrus pectin products. Based on clinical studies, to be effective against cancer and heart disease a modified citrus pectin product should have: a molecular weight of betwen 10,000 and 20,000 daltons and 10 percent (or less) degree of esterification.
